By Air
Baltimore is accessible from three airports and BWI is the closest
one. Dulles and Reagan are located just outside DC and will require
over an hour commute to Baltimore. Reagan has a train portal and you
can obtain a train from Reagan to BWI and then rent a car. Dulles
requires you to rent a car and drive to Baltimore.

Getting to the Hotel from BWI
The easiest ways to do it are to take a taxi (about $25)
or take a Super Shuttle (about $12). Both will take you right to the
Hampton Inn hotel (or any Inner Harbor hotel).

By Train
Amtrak services the Baltimore and DC area. There are two options if
arriving by train. Penn Station (BAL) is located in Baltimore City.
However, if you choose to stay outside the city, car rental is not
located at the train station. Taxis are available. Baltimore
Washington International airport (BWI) is the second train station
and a shuttle bus can take you to a car rental near BWI airport.

Once in Baltimore, there are local rail systems if you want to
visit sites. The light rail and MARC service the area. If visiting
DC, the DC Metro or Amtrak are options. Amtrak can take you directly
into DC or you can drive to the New Carrollton rail station (NCR)
and obtain the DC metro.

By Car
For friends driving from Connecticut, there are some options, but
the most direct route is straight down Interstate 95 to Baltimore.
From Bridgeport, its about a 5-hour trip. Fridays and Sundays
are heavy travel days along 95 in the summer. You can bypass
most of the traffic by avoiding New Jersey and the Delaware Bridge,
by taking a route through Pennsylvania. Take 95 or 278 to 78
West, all the way to Harrisburg, PA. Then take 81 south to 83
South through York into Maryland. This route is a little
longer mile-wise, but you'll avoid the backups on 95.
Car Rental
From BWI airport or Amtrak station, you can obtain a car rental and
drive to your hotel.

/car_rentals/
From Penn Station, you will need to obtain a taxi to a car rental
location in the city. If you choose to stay in the city, you could
forego the car rental and just use taxi service.
