The Proposal
Stan proposed on July 3, 2006 in Philadelphia, PA, the City of Love. He chose Philly because it is where their two hearts fell in love. Before Stan moved to Maryland, Tina and he had a long distance relationship. Philly happened to be about halfway between Connecticut and Maryland, making an ideal location for a blossoming love.

The two arrived in Philly after celebrating Stan’s mothers birthday in Connecticut. A romantic walk through Antique Row and accommodations at the Ritz Carlton suggested the day was very special. But when Tina and Stan arrived at a quaint Italian restaurant in Society Hill and entered a special room just for two, Tina’s heart skipped a beat. There were rose petals and candlelight inside an intimate wine cellar where wine bottles from past visitors shouted their love for each other in unique dedications. At the end of dinner, Stan knelt on one knee and proposed with ease and enduring love in his voice.

Facts and trivia, most of it true!

Tina, now 31, was born in Minot, ND and is the only child of Stan and Rosemarie. She and her parents moved to Maryland in 1978 and lived in Hagerstown, MD. The family settled in Glen Burnie, MD in 1979.

Tina attended Calvary Baptist school through ninth grade and completed high school at Archbishop Spalding in Severn, MD.

She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Legal and Ethical Studies from the University of Baltimore and is a candidate for her J.D. in 2008. She currently works as a freelance writer and is pursuing legal internships.

Tina’s focus is environmental and animal welfare law and hopes to pursue a legal career within these fields. Environmental issues have been a concern for Tina since high school. She served as president of the Sawmill Creek Recovery Team for a number of years to organize citizens and help restore the health of the creek. During college she was the president of the Environmental Club and is currently president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund in her law school.

On a personal note, Tina loves the Victorian era and authors. She also enjoys yoga and nature hikes. She loves all animals and currently has four cats: Oliver, Romeo, Juliet, and Stanley.

Tina looks forward to meeting all of Stan’s friends and spending time with her family and friends in June.
